THE TUNNELERS
(circa 1996)

Burrow deep and deep within each recess, deep
Penetrate the soul and fabric of all, so all will weep
When wills destroyed and spirits so corrupted that even
Robots sigh and sigh a fleshless sigh
Feeling naught and thinking naught and being naught.

FLICKERING LIGHTS

One by One, Two by Two ---------------------------------
They appear and flicker thru the night
One by One, Two by Two ---------------------------------
They appear and flicker through the day
Endlessly one by one, two by two ----------------------
They appear and flicker thru the nights
Endlessly one by one, two by two ----------------------
They appear and flicker thru the days
And then one by one, two by two -----------------------
Those that flicker thru the days
Suddenly one by one, two by two ----------------------
They appear and flicker thru the nights

TO BE IS ENOUGH FOR ME

Strike hard at my very soul
You merciless sower of despair
Attack, Attack, and again Attack
Strike hard with every blow
Sink your teeth, deep and deeper
You make me bleed, my mind goes black
Be gone, Be gone, you tormentor you
Of all of us, yes, of all of us
Go away, you rascal you, go away
I need not reason, to be is enough for me

Truth and TRUTH

I was born he says and that is truth
I was born I say and that too is Truth
You live in light and darkness and so it's true
But in darkness and light do I live and so it's True
You love and hate, you condemn and forgive, you give and take
You worship and prosper, as I do, he says, and is that not true?
I do all that you do and so help me that too is True

COLD ARE THE NIGHTS
(10 March 1966)

Cold are the nights for the want of you my love
And in desperate ways my mind meanders like a maze
In search of your precious presence and quiet sense
For my soul to hold and feast upon your love
And give to yours that which you must desire
Cold are the nights for the want of us my love

CRY FOR ME
(14 June 1970)

Cry for me with tears of love
See me through, this, and every day
Hold me close as only you can do
Preserve my strengths through all my weaknesses
Give me wisdom when there is naught
Let me see when my eyes go blind
Let me hear when I cannot hear
Let me feel when there is no feeling
Let me touch when no touch exists
Show me love when there is no love
Give me life when all seems dead
Cry for me when all things are through
And then call me home, to be with you
